On the same acreage will be a lifetime CAT HAVEN, DOG HAVEN, large BIRD AVIARY, and HORSE FARM, for the beloved animals who outlive their human companions. Some of these pets may be cared for in the homes of other residents, or perhaps adopted by a member of the outside communities, but for others these havens will be state-of-the-art, comfortable places where they will receive veterinary care and daily visitors.

These sanctuaries will be not-for-profit, operated by an elected Board of Directors, on-site managers, and caregiving staff drawn largely from the community, with resident volunteers.

It will be financed by donors grateful for the service of its Mission, made known through media coverage, semiannual Benefits, seasonal fundraising events directed by volunteers and Foundation Grants.

A 35 year success model of exactly such type is the continuously operating lifetime feline sanctuary, CATS-ARE-PURRSONS-TOO, in the customized neighborhood home of the founder of TOUCHED BY AN ANIMAL. There is no doubt that such self-sustaining places can be maintained even better in a planned, ideally designed community as we envision for people/pet retirement.
